'Stone' bowl #28

25cm x 20cm - Carved from a single piece of aged oak by designer and wood carver Jamie Gaunt.  
 
This piece came together from a very old piece of oak, the same length as bowls #26 & #27, that had been drying slowly outside for decades.  Already containing an incredible array of beautiful patterning, the natural ageing in the elements over years, enriched it with a depth of colour, texture and emotion that could never be synthesised or shortcut.    A stunning cracked and warped piece that celebrates all that is so alluring and captivating in oak.
